With the cancellation of the Arts in the Heart in 2020, CCBA was delighted to be Back in the Booth in September 2021. We scaled down the menu but kept our most popular items and the patrons were happy to satisfy their longing for sweet sesame honey chicken, savory fried wings and crispy egg rolls! Wei Huang and her team introduced baozi this year, a pan-fried/steamed bun stuffed with a tasty, seasoned pork mixture. We managed to make a modest profit in spite of our challenges with fewer volunteers and fewer festival goers. A group of students from Augusta University’s ASIA (Asian Students in Augusta), helped us fill many volunteer serving positions at the booth. Next year we hope to be back in full force as the serving ladle has been handed off to the next generation.
