Chinese American Women in History Conference (October 24-26, 2019)

If you are interested in attending or have relatives or friends in the Washington DC area who may be interested, the 1882 Foundation and the Chinese American Museum of Washington DC will present on Oct 24-26, a conference on Chinese American Women in History. The conference will include scholarly panels, community storytelling, and film screenings that feature the pioneering work of Chinese American women filmmakers. The conference is open to anyone interested in the topic whether as professional scholars or as individuals’ personal curiosity. Crystal Kwok, whose grandmother’s family were members of the CCBA and who is producing a documentary titled “Chinese Women in the Segregated South” (which is based on her personal family history) will be featured panelist at the conference.
