CCBA Members,
Augusta University College of Nursing is promoting healthy lifestyles and disease prevention to the Asian population in Augusta and will be holding a FREE Health Fair.
Location: CCBA, 548 Walker St. Augusta, GA 30901
Date and Time: Saturday 09/25/2021 from 9AM-1PM .
Please see the attached flyers. Registration is not required. Just show up! A snack and drink will be provided.
They offer screenings for heart disease, Diabetes Mellitus, hearing, vision, cognitive or memory status, muscle strength for fall prevention, HIV, and education on Osteoporosis, stroke, cervical cancer, lung cancer, smoking cessation, etc.
An endodontist from Augusta University, Dental College, will be on-hand to conduct dental screenings and inspections (no treatment, just check, and follow up if needed).
The event is open to all members of the Chinese community so please help get the word out and feel free to notify your friends and family outside of our association. People of all income levels and ages (except infants) are welcome.
Masks must be worn while inside the building. Masks will be provided if you do not have one.
Translators in Mandarin and Cantonese will be available.
Volunteers Needed!!
If you would like to volunteer with translating or clerical tasks, please contact Dr. Christine Nguyen CHNGUYEN1@augusta.edu and she will provide details.
Note: Only the nursing staff will be handling materials dealing with blood-borne pathogens.
